Alexandre de Castro Gomes is a Brazilian writer of literature for children and young adults. He studied in American schools and graduated in Law at Candido Mendes University. After the release of his first book (The Chocolate's Trial, in 2008), Alex won literary prizes, created a website for aspiring authors (www.eraumavez.com.br - updated until 2011), and was in charge of Espaço LIJ (Kids Lit Space), a section of the digital magazine Sobrecapa Literal.

 

Alexandre is the president of AEILIJ (a Brazilian association of writers and illustrators) for the 2015-2019 term. He is part of it's Board of Directors since 2011.

Today, besides writing, Alex manages a literary blog in Portuguese (www.blogao.com.br), keeps his website in English (http://oalexgomes.wix.com/english), evaluates manuscripts, and travels around Brazil and abroad giving lectures and workshops.
